    From Brisbane, Qantas provides daily direct services with multiple flights each day, ensuring flexible travel options whether you’re visiting for leisure or business.

    By Car

    Travelling to Hervey Bay by car is easy and enjoyable, with well-signed highways and scenic stretches along the way.

    From Brisbane, the drive takes approximately 3.5 hours. Simply follow the Bruce Highway north to Maryborough. From there, clear signage will guide you directly to Hervey Bay, with the final leg taking around 30–40 minutes.

    If you’re arriving from the north, the journey is just as straightforward. Continue south on the Bruce Highway until you see the turn-off to Hervey Bay. The route will take you past the small township of Howard before guiding you through to the coast — all well sign-posted and easy to follow.

    By Bus

    Travelling to Hervey Bay by coach is a comfortable and affordable option, with services operating daily along the Queensland coast.

    Both Greyhound and Premier run regular services between Brisbane and Cairns, with several stopping in Hervey Bay each day. This makes it easy to plan your journey whether you’re arriving from the south or travelling down from North Queensland.

    Please note that not all services follow a direct route. If you prefer a quicker trip and want to avoid the longer, scenic detours, we recommend checking each operator’s timetable to ensure you’re booking a direct service to Hervey Bay.

    By Train

    Queensland Rail provides convenient daily services to the Fraser Coast, making train travel a comfortable and relaxing way to reach Hervey Bay.

    Although the original rail line into Hervey Bay is no longer in operation, Queensland Rail ensures a seamless journey by offering a connecting, air-conditioned coach from Maryborough West Station. This coach meets all northbound and southbound Tilt Train and long-distance services and delivers passengers directly into Hervey Bay.

    The service is popular year-round, so advance bookings are recommended.

    Once you arrive, it’s just a short trip to Ramada Hervey Bay, where your coastal getaway awaits.

    Prefer your own wheels? Major and boutique car-rental companies operate throughout the city — just be sure to book early, as Hervey Bay is a popular destination year-round.

    For a fun and active way to explore, bike hire is available onsite at Ramada Hervey Bay. Cruise along kilometres of coastal pathways, stop at cafés, and discover hidden lookouts at your own pace.
